What Makes Oshogram Different from Other Meditation Centers?

Oshogram is not just another retreat center. It is an intimate Osho ashram nestled at high elevation in the Himalayan ranges of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by lush green forests and expansive apple orchards, it offers a perfect sanctuary for meditation and spiritual exploration. The ashram is open year-round and welcomes seekers from around the world.

Unlike crowded retreat centers, Oshogram maintains a small, close-knit spiritual community. This creates a deeper, more personal meditation experience. Every corner of the ashram is designed to support your journey inward. The Buddha Hall serves as the heart of our daily meditation practices.

What Can You Expect During Your Stay?

Your days at Oshogram begin with morning meditation sessions in the Buddha Hall. The crisp mountain air and bird songs create a natural backdrop for inner silence. You will practice various Osho meditation techniques designed to release stress and awaken awareness.

Meals are simple, wholesome, and vegetarian. They are prepared with care and eaten in silence to maintain the meditative atmosphere. Between sessions, you can walk through apple orchards, sit under ancient Deodar trees, or simply rest in your room.

The ashram follows a rhythm that balances structure with freedom. You are encouraged to listen to your own needs and participate as your energy guides you.

What Is the Daily Schedule at Oshogram?

Mornings start early with dynamic meditation at sunrise. This active meditation technique helps release physical and emotional tension before sitting in silence. Breakfast follows in community silence, allowing the meditative space to continue.

Mid-morning sessions may include Nadabrahma meditation, a gentle healing practice that centralises your energy. Afternoons are often free for personal reflection, rest, or exploring the natural surroundings. Some guests enjoy walking to nearby villages or sitting by mountain streams.

Evening gatherings bring the community together for Kundalini meditation, evening sating, music, celebration, discourses on meditation and consciousness. Night closes with a period of silent sitting before sleep. This rhythm supports your body's natural cycles while deepening your meditation practice.

Frequently Asked Questions About Visiting Oshogram

Is prior meditation experience required to visit Oshogram?

No prior experience is needed. Oshogram welcomes both beginners and experienced meditators. Our techniques are simple and our guides help newcomers understand each practice. The ashram atmosphere naturally supports your learning process. Many first-time visitors discover meditation comes more easily here than in their busy city lives.

How long should I plan to stay for a meaningful experience?

We recommend staying at least 3 to 5 days for a meaningful retreat. This gives your mind time to settle and your body time to adjust to the mountain environment. Longer stays of 7 to 10 days allow deeper transformation. Some seekers come for weeks or months. Listen to your own heart when deciding your stay duration.

What are the accommodation options available?

We offer simple, clean rooms designed for comfort without luxury. Some rooms are shared dormitory style (shared bathroom) , others are private or semi-private. All rooms have basic amenities like beds, blankets, and storage. Bathrooms have hot water. The focus is on simplicity that supports meditation rather than distraction.

Can I bring my mobile phone and use internet?

You can bring your phone but we encourage minimal use during your stay. Airtel network works best here. WiFi is limited and intentionally kept that way to support your retreat from digital distractions. Most guests find relief in disconnecting. We ask that phones stay silent in meditation spaces and common areas.

What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?

All meals are vegetarian and prepared fresh daily. If you have specific allergies or dietary needs, inform us when booking. We do our best to accommodate restrictions. Meals are simple but nourishing, using local vegetables and grains. The mountain air and meditation practice often change your relationship with food in surprising ways.

Are there medical facilities nearby in case of emergency?

The nearest medical facilities are in Nihri, 4 km away. Basic first aid is available at the ashram. If you have serious health conditions or take regular medications, bring adequate supplies. The altitude and mountain climate can affect some people initially. Most guests adjust within a day or two.
